Elizabeth and Matthew wanted to celebrate our wonderful country as well as their nuptials in a beautiful July 5th wedding ceremony in Wightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett. Elizabeth and her bridesmaids kicked off the wedding day at the Hutton Hotel by having their hair and make-up done by Marz. While the bridal party was pampered, Matthew and his groomsmen met at the Courtyard Marriott to get dressed and ready for the big day. Evin from Evin Photography beautifully captured all of the special moments and we are so excited to share them today!
After the girls finished hair and makeup, they were transported by a Grand Avenue shuttle to Scarritt Bennett where they finished getting ready and prepped for photos. Evin captured some wonderful shots of Elizabeth and her bridesmaids, and later with the groomsmen once the guys arrived. Matthew had photos taken with his groomsmen and bridesmaids before the ceremony began. Elizabeth and Matthew stayed with tradition and waited to see each other until the ceremony, which made us that much more anxious to see Matthew’s reaction as he saw his beautiful bride-to-be walk down the aisle.
Matthew’s reaction did not disappoint as he immediately teared up while watching his gorgeous bride walk down the aisle with her father as College Grove Strings played “Trumpet Voluntary.” Elizabeth’s breathtaking lace dress was accented perfectly with a lush neutral colored bridal bouquet from Fresh by Carry Ann. All 220 guests watched in awe as this sweet couple said “I Do” and were finally pronounced husband and wife. After the ceremony, the wedding party and family stayed at Scarritt Bennett for additional photos while guests departed for Hillwood Country Club where cocktail hour and reception were held. At the cocktail hour, guests listened to music from a pianist while sipping on signature cocktails – a champagne with lemon twist for the ladies and a Jack Daniel’s on the rocks for the men.
The reception kicked off as guests helped themselves to various food stations which were deliciously catered by Hillwood Country Club. Menu items included pork tenderloin, white cheddar mac and cheese, herb-seared salmon, parmesan risotto, and a build your own taco station. Elizabeth and Matthew made their grand entrance into the ballroom and shared their first dance to James Taylor’s, “How Sweet It Is.”
The ballroom at Hillwood Country Club was beautifully decorated with linens, draping, lighting, and floral arrangements. Dessert Designs created a gorgeous four-tiered wedding cake that was accented with flowers from Fresh by Carry Ann. After the couple enjoyed this sweet treat, it was time to hit the dance floor again! Guests enjoyed passed late night snacks while dancing. Rose petals were used as part of the grand exit as the happy couple made their way to the getaway car. Elizabeth and Matthew, we are so lucky to have been apart of such a memorable day!
